I would like to Thank the very hard working Staff that took great care of me during my time in the James Pageant Hospital, especially as they were under a lot of pressure.

I recently had a total knee replacement at James Paget Hospital by spinal block. I totally recommend it. I couldn't fault the care and treatment I received in the two days I was in hospital. I have remarked to friends that it was like 'a walk in the park', apart from the expected pain, but that was kept under control with pain management. The friendly, caring nurses and the ward atmosphere made it feel more like a social occasion. I thought the time would drag, but it actually flew by. I've just had my six week check with the surgeon, Mr Nahkla, who was brilliant and so skilled. Keep up the good work JPH.

Like all NHS hospitals at the moment, this hospital is struggling but doing an amazing job. The staff are very friendly and the patient's needs are always top priority. I have needed the services of the James Paget a few times and every time I have been treated with respect and dignity.

Had to contact children's community nurse slid wider regarding our childs gastro pump needs. Me wider claimed she had not been given or had any input or communication from or with our sons named dietician Liz Ingham from norfolk and norwich. We contacted Liz Ingham at norfolk and norwich, and.Liz Ingham read out about 7 contacts that she had had with children's community nurse Ellie Allder. Liz Ingham supported this with times and dates, that she had had with Me Allder. This shows Me Ingham was strictly adhering to medical record keeping governance. Ms Allder also attended a care plan meeting at our child's school.MsAllder was asked by us whether she had had any communication from our child's gp who was Dr Neris, she stated she had not. However in front of her on the table was a letter from Dr Nevis written to her. We noticed this at the meeting and questioned Ms Allder at the time she still claimed she had not received or had communication from the GP?. She then ironically told us that she had to act in accordance with her medical record ethics. Whatever the reason was for her actions, they clearly are not in the patient interests and not in compliance with her governing bodies rules and codes.

I am the brother of one of the elderly patients who has been in the hospital for 3 months. During a visit to him I witnessed an event in which nurses performed a 'weighing exercise' solely with the intent of frightening my sister in law (and me) in terms of my brother's serious condition and in order to (presumably) deter my sister in law from pestering to have him at home. He had been weighed only 4 hours earlier so I am sorry to say that I saw this (lterally) as an act of cruelty not only to (at that time) a helpless brother but also to his wife and me. It gets worse I am afraid, at NO time has my sister in law been given consistent information about my brother's condition and recently she has even been given THREE contradictory reports on his progress (or not) towards discharge. He was told that he would be 'going home tomorrow' only to have that contradicted within a few hours. The result was a desparately unhappy man and an even more upset and confused wife. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with the way his case is being (mis)managed and I am very concerned that the Care Act is not being heeded here. To date, my sister in law has not been given ANY documentation as to the after-care plan which is a legal requirement. NOBODY seems to be taking responsibility for this case and I intend to take this matter to the highest authorities to protest a series of humane mishaps of tragic proportions. Everyone deserves dignity in crisis and old age and serious illness. I do not believe that in critical areas of health management, he has or is receiving it.

a bit like the parson's egg - good in parts! the professional end - emergency and theatre cannot be faulted. general nursing standards blighted by a proportion of staff with bad attitudes. not a good place for the elderly [is any NHS hospital???]. again, as with all hospitals with which I have had interaction, too much time spent on paperwork being generated but not necessarily filled in on a continuous basis which leads to a lack of knowledge and continuity in patient treatment
